VOLUME SYNOPSIS

The Assassins' Guild. The silent order. For centuries, they have maintained the balance of good and evil in Midgard, striking hard and fast whenever the scales would tip. But there are some who would prefer that Midgard be without its shadowy protectors. The dread swordsman Skurai, guided by Odin's Beholders, has descended on the Assassins' lair intent on slaughtering them in an orgy of blood. Should he succeed in this massacre, humanity will lose its greatest allies in the war against the gods.There is only one Assassin who can stop Skurai— the masked killer Loki—but he is away on assignment, battling a madman bent on resurrecting the demon lord Surt.
